1. Question: Will they PLA straws work in hot beverages?
Answer: The plant based straws are intended for cold beverages but depending on the temperature we have used them in hot beverages before.
If you have a very hot drink, this would not be the best straw, our bamboo straws, wheat straws, paper straws, bamboo fiber straw, reed straws would be a better choice.
2. Question: Can these be composted at home or do they need to go to a facility?
Answer:We recommend commercially composting if possible as PLA will break down in 6 months in a commercial facility. Home composting or other forms of disposal likely will take longer than at a commercial facility. They are EU certified for home composting.
3. Question: Do these need to be taken to a facility to be composed?
Answer: No
4. Question: what kind of drinks can be used for these straws?
Answer: Any kind of drinks, juice, beer, sparkling water, coke... but not for hot liquid.
5. Question: Do they have a funny taste or texture different from a normal straw?
Answer: They are better than regular straws. No smells or tastes and the texture is high quality. You get these kind of straws at a high quality Artisan restaurant.
6. Question: How long are they?
Answer: The popular whoesale length is 7.5 inches (19 cm) and 9 inches (23cm). If you need other length, can be customized according to your request.
